British Red Cross Society,Medal for War Service 1914-18This medal was awarded to members of the British Red Cross or its voluntary aid detachments who served in the UK between 4 August 1914 and 31 December 1919. Those who were eligible had to undertake at least 1,000 hours of unpaid service, or be ambulance drivers and bearers who gave 500 hours unpaid service. Between 41,000 and 42,000 medals were awarded.
The bronze medal features a Greek cross within a Laurel wreath.The rear bears the latin motto Inter Arma Caritas- Mercy Between Armies also within a laurel wreath.The medal is suspended from a plain white ribbon in clean condition.As with the majority of these medals it is unnamed to the rim.Height 32mm

British Red Cross Technical Medal,Medical OfficerInstituted in 1914 and discontinued in 1966,the BRCS Technical Badges could be worn by members of the Voluntary Aid detachments with professional Qualifications.This rare medal was issued and named to Dr Alex Low Rhind ,numbered 109.He is recorded as being a House Surgeon for the Cottage Hospital Chorley before being found in Keyworth Nottinghamshire during WW2.In good condition with no damage to the enamel ,it is suspended from it's original silk ribbon on a buckle mounting.The scrolled ribbon bar bears the title Medical Officer Medal height 43mm,drop 83mm

British Red Cross Technical Medal,Trained NurseA Technical badge for the British Red Cross Society with a scarce original Trained Nurse bar.The badges were introduced in 1914 and discontinued in 1966,and could be worn by members of Voluntary Aid Detachments with professional qualifications.This one is for a "Trained Nurse" which predates the later "State Registered Nurse".
The low issue number suggests that this may been issued prior to 1922 when state registration was introduced.
The enamel cross is in very good condition and is named on the rear to 1310 A.MacDonald. The medal is suspended from the original cream silk ribbon with red stripes.The brass pin back buckle brooch is in good order
(There are unfortunately several possible A MacDonalds so I cannot definitively identify the recipient of this particular badge.)

Southern Railway Centre of St John Ambulance Association,7 Year medalA bronze Seven Year efficiency medal in First Aid from the Southern Railways centre of St John Ambulance Ambulance.
The face bears two discs surrounded by ornate scrolling.One has the intertwined initials of S & R for Southern Railways and the other the Maltese cross of the Order of St John of Jerusalem.The reverse is engraved for Alfred J Wale 1932. The medal is suspended on a black and white striped ribbon with a pin back bar brooch which is marked 7 years.Height 87mm

Bath War Hospital,World War 1 Nurses/VAD BadgeA Brass and Enamel badge for the Bath War Hospital.Opened in 1916 on the Combe Park site of the current Royal United Hospitals. The design features the arms of Bath imposed upon a red cross on a white background.The title Bath War Hospital is on a blue band around the edge.Enamel in good condition,Pin and clasp good although the pin is a professional replacement.Unmarked to rear.Height 32mm
The St John Ambulance Association,Silver Member badge,A Kinghorn setOne of a group of items belonging to the same nurse ,who trained at the Liverpool Southern Hospital around the period of the First World War.This is her silver members badge for the St John Ambulance Brigade.It is engraved to the rear 146795 Alison Kinghorn.This was issued in 1911 and is also hallmarked for Vaughton & sons Birmingham 1911.Height 43mm

Red Cross Medal & Badge Grouping, Miss Agnes B J ScottA nice pair of Red Cross items being a silver Long & Efficient Service medal with two 5 year service bars, engraved to the rim Miss Agnes BJ Scott.Medal in good condition but original silk ribbon rather dirty and worn.the second item is a Red Cross Proficiency in First Aid medal with bars for 1938,1942,1950 and 1954.This is named and numbered for A.Scott 21873.Good overall condition.This is accompanied by a medal ribbon bar showing WW2 Defence & War medals and Long and efficient service,this shows considerable wear.
Red Cross Medal & Badge Grouping, C A Scorer,An assorted badge and medal group to one Red Cross Nurse spanning the First and Second World Wars.They consist of a BRCS medal for War Service 1914-1918 along with a miniature(both in original boxes). A silver Voluntary Medical Service Medal(awarded for 15 years service)with two additional service bars(each for 5 extra years).This is mounted with a WW2 Defence Medal.This has an accompanying medal ribbon bar and the VMS Medal also has a miniature in it's original box( this just needs the ribbon reinserting to the hanger).

British Red Cross Society Proficiency Badge,Anti Gas Training with ARP Bar.A nice Red Cross Proficiency in Anti Gas Training Badge from the second World war period.It also has a Air Raid Precautions Bar 1941.These Proficiency badges were awarded in a variety of subjects following examinations and this was one of the less common variants.
In good condition,enamel good with minor scratches.Suspension pin good with pin and clasp intact.Original ribbon,although slightly dirty.Named to reverse 7763 A.Day.Height with ribbon 97mm
