Princess Christian's Army Nursing Service Reserve

A Beautiful Large Silver badge for this organisation formed in March 1897.It's members,who worked as Nurses in civilian Hospitals,were to be mobilised in times of convict to staff the Army's Hospitals.Their major debut was in the 2nd Boer War in South Africa where many served bravely.I can recommend the site;

This badge has the issue number 857 which suggests a recruitment date after August 1900.Unfortunately I have not been able to identify the particular recipient but none the less this is a scarce badge worthy of more research.Condition good but some surface scratches.A large badge being some 50mm high
