Another unusual item from my collection ,being one of the original bronze dies for the casting of the Famous Nightingale nursing badges.The two sided disk features the front and reverse of the eight pointed star badge, complete with herring bone stripes to the arms.
This would have been used to make casts for the moulding of badges. The detail is still very crisp with only minor surface...  read more
