Royal Worcester Figurine,Nursing Sister University College Hospital

A Royal Worcester Figurine from a series of Four featuring Nursing Sisters of English Hospitals. These were modelled by Ruth Van Ruyckevelt in the late 1950s and early 1960s in a limited edition of 500 of each figure. This example is 229/500 of the Nursing Sister from University College Hospital in London.It stands at approximately 8 and a half inches tall with plinth and portrays a Sister in dark blue uniform with white apron,complete with Belt and buckle,Nurses League badge and pleated cap.She is holding a Clip Board with Observation chart(the recordings are even visible on the chart).Unfortunately this has sustained damage in that the chart has been broken and repaired.This is visible as a crack between the nurses hands on the picture.This does not detract from the overall appearance of the figure but is obviously reflected in the Asking Price.Is is missing it's original box and certificate.
These figurines are increasingly rare and sought after,particularly in their original boxes with certificates.I shall be coming into procession of all four boxed figurines later this month and will be offering these for sale on this site.
