Associate Royal Red Cross Medal
The Royal Red Cross Medal was instigated in 1883 and awarded to Military Nurses for exceptional services.The Associate grade was instigated in 1917.This George V issued medal is likely to have been for service during the First War War however the recipient is unknown. It it's original wooden case,although this suffered damage at the corners and is showing signs of wear, from Garrard & Co.(the box liner features the Garrard & Co address in Calcutta,so may have been issued for service in the East?) The medal is suspended from a ladies bow and is in very good condition.Please see pictures.Cross 40mm in height
