Goodmayes Hospital,Ilford Essex,Nurses badge

Originally opened in 1901 as the West Ham Borough Asylum,the hospital was renamed West Ham Mental Hospital in 1918,and Goodmayes Hospital after 1948.
This Chrome and enamel badge I believe dates to the 1950s and features the serpent and staff of the rod of Asclepius.Enamel in very condition,Pin,clasp and safety catch all in good working order.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent Street Birmingham.Engraved JT and SRN Height 32mm
