A lovely Large nurses badge from St Mary's Hospital Paddington.Nicknamed the St Mary's Penny,the badges face features the Madonna and child from the Hospital's seal.the reverse bears the latin motto " Quodcunque Facere Potest Manus Instanter Operare" around the edge,this translates as"Whatever thy hand is able to ,do it earnestly" This badge is named to J Jones 1950-1954.Good overall condition but with minor surface wear to the infant Christ.Pin is intact but loose.A desirable badge for the collector.Height 45mm
