United Kingdom Nurse's Badge Pair

Being sold here is one a group of badges,in near unworn condition, awarded to what appears to be one nurse N.TILLOOJEE over her career.She looks to have trained as an Enrolled Nurse in Scotland before SRN conversion in Blackpool.She later appears to have done her Midwifery training at South Lothian College of Nursing.Along with these badges are her RCN membership badges and a pair of rare UK Nurses badges.Please see the separate listings for details and should you wish to set items aside to keep the set together please contact me.
These are a rare pair of badges from the 1980s.When the GNCs for England & Wales & Scotland were abolished and replaced by the United Kingdom Central Council in 1983,the new body decided against the issue of any badge.Despite much protest they stuck to that decision however to satisfy demand a private company came up with the UK Nurses Badge which could be purchased by Qualified staff.They were available in a standard Uniform & a small Dress badge.They were bought in relatively small numbers and are therefore scarce today. These are a pair issued to N Tilloojee M (Maternity)3249 and are 40mm and 25mm respectively.
