South Ockendon Group of Hospitals Nurses Badge

South Ockendon was originally a Colony for the mentally Handicapped in Essex which opened in 1932.It changed its name to South Ockendon Hospital in 1948 and the Group was in operation until 1974 so the badge probably dates to the 1960s.The Hospital finally closed in 1994.
Featuring the Lamp of Learning the badge is in very good condition with minimal surface wear,pin and clasp intact.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street Birmingham.Height 28mm
