Bethlem Royal Hospital,Cased Silver Nurses Medal

A Silver Nurses badge from the famous "Bedlam" Mental Hospital,Bethlem Royal Hospital.Europe's first and oldest institution to specialise in mental illnesses it relocated to the outskirts of London near Bromley in the early 1930s.
The oval medal is suspended from it's original ribbon with pin back suspension bar,in good condition.The medal is then suspended from an ornate bar with swivel fixing.The Face of the medal bears the seal of the hospital within the title Bethlem Royal Hospital and 1547( the year of it's foundation).It bears hallmarks for BBRS(Booth Brothers Birmingham) and year letter for 1936. The reverse face is named around the rim for Alice Carrol 26.6.37. Overall in very good condition.It is in a velvet lined presentation case(rather battered) but not sure if this is original.
