Park Hospital Silver Nurses badge

A Good example of a nurses training school badge from Park Hospital,one of a number of similar badges I am listing from my private collection.They all feature the central design of the Stag's head from the Earl of Dartmouth,holders of the Manor of Lewisham,complete with 5 pointed star taken from the arms of the Borough. Across the Antlers is tied a twisted wreath with a raven,alluding to the local river the Revensbourne,In its mouth the stag holds the rod of Asclepius.The three original training hospitals in the group were Lewisham,Grove Park & Hither Green & St John's.
This silver and enamel badge is from the Park Hospital(Hither Green).In good condition although with some surface scratches to the enamel.Pin & clasp with Safety roller catch all in good order.Marked silver to rear.Height 31mm
