Lanarkshire School of Midwifery,Silver Midwives' badge

A silver and enamel midwives badge for the Lanarkshire School of Midwifery.This came into being in 1974 from the amalgamation of several maternity hospitals including the William Smellie Memorial Maternity Hospital.The first badges were given out in November 1975.The design features William Smellie a pioneer of Obstetrics.The badge has some surface scratches as pictured,the pin,clasp and safety catch however are all good.Marked Silver ,Number 139 is also scratched to rear.Height 37mm
