National Temperance Hospital & General Nursing Council pair
A pair of badges to the same nurse J E Wakefield from the 1940s.The first is large pendant badge from the Paddington Group No.21 with the suspension bar marked National Temperance .This Hospital in Hampstead road,founded in 1873,was based upon temperance principles.The hospital joined the NHS in 1948 and became part of the Paddington Group HMC and this badge would have been one of the first awarded in the new pattern.The condition is very good with pin and clasp good .It is marked to the rearJ E Wakefield 1st May 1946( I suspect is the start of training) Makers marks for Fattorini & Sons Ltd Bradford Works Birmingham.Height 54mm
This is accompanied by the matching badge from the General Nursing Council for England & Wales in chrome and enamel.In good clean condition with pin and clasp intact.It is marked for J E Wakefield SRN163550 22.7.49.It has a loop for a safety chain but this is not provided.Height 27mm
