Lowestoft & North Suffolk Hospital,Nurses Gold Prize Medal

An extremely rare Gold prize medal from the Lowestoft & North Suffolk Hospital.This is of a hollow pressed 9 carat gold construction and features the same design as the standard hospital badge bearing the seal of Lowestoft.It is engraved to the rear P.Wintersgill Jan 1936-1939.It has makers marks for AF(Anthony Fattorini) and Hallmark year letter for 1938.Safety chain in situ.
I have found from hospital records that this was the first such Prize medal awarded and it was subsequently only issued infrequently over the ensuing years,so yet again an extremely rare item.Height 36mm
