Leicester Royal Infirmary,Cased Nurses Medal

A superb large Nurses medal/badge from the Leicester Royal Infirmary in it's original presentation case.A very large and heavy medal(52gms) suspended on an original blue and white silk ribbon with pin back suspension brooch.The figures ,taken from the hospital seal,show a cloaked figure aiding a sick youth,with the date of 1771, being the year that the hospital was founded.The rear which bears the title Training School for Nurses is engraved for Eleanor Mary Abbott 1941.
In good clean condition with minimal signs of wear, it is in it's original silk lined presentation case marked for G Kenning & Son Ltd London.Similarly marked to the rear of the suspension brooch.
