St Mary's Hospital Plaistow,Silver Nurses Pendant badge

A Silver and enamel pendant badge for St Mary's Hospital for Women & Children Plaistow ,E13.Founded in 1893 and eventually closed in 1985.This oval shaped badge which dates to 1943 bears the Madonna and infant on a flight of stairs with hospital cot and screens behind.In the lower section in the badge of the Charing Cross Hospital to which it had ties.This is suspended from a pin back silver brooch in an art deco style.The rear is engraved for Joan M.Wilkinson 1943.Makers marks for Thomas Fattorini Limited Birmingham,marked Sterling Silver.Very good condition with pin and clasp good.Height 50mm
