Hartwood Hospital,Mental Nurse Training Badge

Originally opened as Lanark District Asylum in 1895,the hospital celebrated it's centenary in 1995 shortly before it's closure in 1998.The badge features a central St Andrew's Cross in blue enamel with a Stags head and a tree,above and below it.It features the latin motto;Mens sana in corpore sano-A Healthy mind in a healthy body.In good overall condition.Some surface scratches but pin and clasp good,a loop for a safety chain is present.Makers mark for Hamilton & Inches Edinburgh,hallmarked for 1976.A small badge at just 26mm.
