Royal Waterloo Hospital for Children & Women,silver nurses badge

One of the first Hospitals to cater for Children,it was founded in 1816.Located on Waterloo Bridge Road it eventually closed in 1976 and the building is now used for Student accommodation for the Notre Dame University.
The Silver and enamel badge consists of a red enamelled Geneva cross,with a central roundel featuring the Royal Cypher.The arms of the cross carry the title Royal Waterloo Hospital for Women & Children.
Very good condition with some minor surface scratches and only one small chip to the corner of the right hand arm of the cross.Pin and clasp good.Hallmarked for London 1914,Elkington & Co.
