Blackburn Royal Infirmary Trained Nurse,Silver Nurses badge

A silver and enamel nurses badge from the Blackburn Royal Infirmary,this version dating to just prior to the Second World War. It consists of a maltese cross with blue enamelled arms containing the hospital title and Trained Nurse.In a central circle id a Red cross with a Hebrew inscription,over which is "The Lord that Healeth Thee".The enamel to several of the corners of the cross have suffered damage,as pictured.The rear has a pin and clasp and safety chain,it bears the inscription 99330 E.V.Macann S.R.N. February 1936-August 1939.It bears Birmingham hallmarks for Vaughtons and Sons 1932
