St Luke's Hospital Chelsea,Silver Nurses Badge
Originally the Infirmary for the Chelsea Workhouse located in Sydney Street,built in 1872.It was renamed St Luke's Hospital just prior to when it came under the control of the London County Council in 1930 .This badge consists of a cross pattee in black enamel rimmed with silver.The central design bears a shield with the arms of Chelsea in a voided centre around which is the title St Luke's Hospital Chelsea in silver on a black enamel band.Some surface wear and minor scratches but condition generally good.Pin and clasp good.Silver hallmarks for WJD (William James Dingley) Birmingham 1928 Height 30mm
