South Bank Polytechnic BSC (Hons) Nursing Studies,Nurses Badge

An Enamelled Nurses badge for the South Bank Polytechnic Bsc Hons Course in Nursing Studies based at Southwark.I understand this operated between 1970 and 1992 when it became South Bank University. From 1974 the Polytechnic was one of the few to award Nursing Degrees,one of the most notable alumni being Sarah Mullally,the Chief Nursing Officer for England between 1999 and 2004.Clinical placements were undertaken at a range of Hospitals across London including St Thomas's.
The badge takes the form of a blue stylised S representing the River Thames over a green map over the area of London of the Polytechnic. Good condition,pin and clasp present but missing safety roller catch.Makers mark for Fattorini 021.236.1307 Height 33mm
