Greenwich District Hospital,Silver SRN Nurses badge
A scarce silver and enamel nurses badge for the Greenwich District Hospital from the 1960s.It takes the form of a silver Geneva cross with a central roundel baring a motif of a snake wound around a trident, rather like a nautical caduceus. This,I believe, refers to the strong Maritime associations of the area. The hospital title appear around the edge.Condition good although the polished finish does show surface scratches.Pin,clasp and safety roller catch are all good.Engraved to H.M.Williams 1968.Silver hallmarks for Thomas Fattorini Birmingham 1968.Height 34mm
