Fulham Infirmary Bronze Midwifery Medal
A heavy bronze pendant medal for Midwifery Training at the Fulham Infirmary from the early 1920s.Originally the Fulham Workhouse Infirmary,it was renamed Fulham Infirmary from 1919 to 1925when it changed its name to Fulham Hospital .The hospital finally closed in 1973 when the Charing Cross Hospital was relocated to the Fulham site.
This large bronze badge features the Madonna & Infant and the motto Famam Extendere Factis- Extend Reputation Through Deeds.This is suspended from a pin back suspension bar marked Midwifery.It appears that this would have originally been mounted from this on a ribbon but this has been lost.Good overall condition,pin and clasp intact,but loose.Unmarked to rear.Height 53mm
