A silver and enamel nurses badge for the Great Yarmouth & Gorleston Hospital from the 1960s.This was the badge issued before the Hospital School of Nursing was amalgamated into the regional Broadland School of Nursing in the 1970s.
The badge features the arms of the borough,The design of three half Lion half Herring creatures being granted by King Edward 111 in 1340,the motto Rex et Nostra Jura-The King and our Rights. In good clean condition with no enamel loss or damage,pin,clasp and safety roller catch all intact.Engraved to B.S.Adams 1964-67.Hallmarked for Fattorini & Son and year letter 1957.Height 28mm
