Great Yarmouth Hospital,Silver Nurses badge
A silver and enamel nurses badge for the Great Yarmouth Hospital from the 1950s.This was the first pattern of badge issued before the Hospital School of Nursing was amalgamated into the regional Broadland School of Nursing in the 1970s.
The badge features the arms of the borough,The design of three half Lion half Herring creatures being granted by King Edward 111 in 1340,the motto Rex et Nostra Jura-The King and our Rights. In good clean condition with no enamel loss or damage,pin and clasp intact.Engraved to Margaret G Bighton 1956.Hallmarked for Fattorini & Son and year letter 1946.Height 28mm
