Basingstoke District Hospital,Silver Nurses Badge

A silver and enamel Nurses badge from the Basingstoke District Hospital.The central design features a red Hampshire rose with Laurel wreath in which is a white bird resembling a stork.(I am unsure of the significance of this?)The hospital title is i silver on a red enamel band to the edge.Good overall condition but with some surface wear.Pin and clasp good.Silver hallmarks for the Birmingham Badge and Medal Company 1976 Height 30mm
