An early silver and enamel Nurses Registration badge for the Joint Nursing and Midwives Council of Northern Ireland.The design features a shield bearing the red cross of St George on a yellow background.Superimposed on this is a smaller silver shield bearing the Red hand of Ulster.Above the main shield is an Imperial crown.Around the edge ,on a green band are the words;Joint Nursing & Midwives Council/Northern Ireland.There are some small chips and wear to the green enamel at the rim with several surface scratches.Pin and clasp intact. Worn Makers mark to the rear of Thomas Fattorini, Hockley St Birmingham.Engraved for E.Anderson A 672 2.10.24 E 74 8.10.25. This is Elizabeth Anderson who is recorded in the Register as having gained her certificate 1921-25 at Belfast Infirmary,including 12 months training in Purdysburn Fever Hospital,Belfast.Thus she is registered under schedule A,General Nursing and schedule E ,Fever Nursing.A nice early dual trained Northern Irish nurse.Hallmarked for 1925.Height 26mm
