A Bronze nurses pendant badge for what was later to become St Mary's Hospital Portsmouth,in it's early days as a Workhouse Infirmary.It features a lozenge shaped badge suspended from a pin back bar brooch labelled PPI for Portsmouth Parish infirmary.The badge features a shield bearing the crescent and star motif of Portsmouth above which is a Geneva Cross.Condition Good,pin temporary replacement.Reverse bears makers marks for Fattorini & Sons Bradford,It is engraved for Agnes Harriett Marshall Oldham.This lady is listed in the GNC records as being A H Marshall nee Oldham so is another case of a nurse continuing to practice after marriage( Later on Nurses were often required to quit if they wished to marry)
She is recorded as having trained from 1923 to 1926. Height 51mm
