Originally the Kent County Lunatic Asylum,at Chartham Down Canterbury,it became St Augustine's Hospital in 1948,before eventually closing in 1993.The design features a St Georges Cross with silvered arms trimmed with blue enamel.A overlaid central Disc bears the image of St Augustine with the hospital title on the blue enamel border.Condition generally good with some surface wear and minor scratches.Pin and clasp present but pin is loose.Marked to rear F.E.Fairchild October 1969,Silver hallmarks for John Pinches,London 1965
