Banstead Hospital,Mental Nurses Badge

A brass and enamel nurses badge from Banstead Hospital.Originally established in 1877 as the Middlesex County Lunatic Asylum,it was renamed Banstead Hospital in the 1930s before eventually closing in 1986.The badge has a central design which features the clock tower and spire of the central entrance building.Good overall condition,pin,clasp and Safety roller catch all good. makers mark for Fattorini & Sons Ltd,Bradford Works Birmingham(this dates it to prior to 1954).Height 32mm
