Liverpool Eastern District (Teaching)School Of Nursing,Silver Nurses badge

A silver and enamel nurses badge from the Liverpool Eastern District School of Nursing.The blue enamel cross features several pictograms in each arm of the cross depicting the Liver bird,an elderly person,a family of parents and child,a mother and baby.The central motif features a pair of Hands from the two former districts which made up the new schooling 1973.The badge was designed after a competition by one of the Paediatric Nursing tutors mrs.D A Sissons
This badge was replaced in 1979 by that for the Liverpool Area School of Nursing.
Condition is fair although there is damage to the edged of each arm of the cross as pictured,still a scarce item.Pin,clasp and safety roller catch all good.
Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street Birmingham.Silver hallmarks for TF Birmingham 1975.Engraved for JE Price.Height 33mm
