A chrome and enamel Midwives badge from the Kings Mill School of Midwifery in Sutton in Ashfield ,Nottinghamshire.The hospital was originally built by the Americans during the Second World War before it became part of the NHS in 1951.The Midwifery Training School started in 1968.The badge was designed by Miss A Whawell,a sister at the hospital and features a Moline cross with emblems representing the local connections in the quarters.There is a Snipe for Sutton in Ashfield,an Oak for Nottingham Forest,a stag for Mansfield and finally a pair of hands denoting caring.
Condition is good with pin,clasp and safety roller catch all good.makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Regent street Birmingham.Height 26mm
