Silver (Aladdin's) Lamp of Learning

A lovely solid silver Aladdin style lamp,also known as the Lamp of Learning. A smaller version of the type of Lamp used in the annual Florence Nightingale Commemoration Service at Westminster Abbey.In America many schools hold a Lamp Of Learning ceremony and small china versions are given as graduation gifts.
The lamp itself is 110mm long and 65mm high and weighs 60gms. It would have had a removable finial(this is missing) and could have oil and a wick added to take a flame if required. The item carries Hallmarks at the base for H &? Birmingham 1912.Excellent condition
