Basildon & Thurrock School of Midwifery,Midwives badge

A Bronze metal and enamel badge from the Basildon & Thurrock School of Midwifery.The centre is divided into three sections with the Lamp of Learning,a Thames Barge in full sail and a Mythological Lady.I believe these reflected emblems from the separate schools of Nursing which went to make up the new combined school.This pattern of badge was in use from the 1980s. In very good overall condition with only minor surface scratches.Pin and clasp have been professionally replaced .Makers marks for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street Birmingham.Height 35mm
