Thames College of Health Care Studies,Nurses Badge

A base metal and enamel nurses badge for the Thames College of Health Care Studies.This,I believe dates to the 1980s,and was formed from 3 previous Schools of Nursing,covering the local areas before merging with the newly formed University of Greenwich on 1st January 1993.
The design features a central red cross with four different emblems appearing on the arms of the cross taken from the previous Schools of Nursing.These include the Rearing horse of Kent,the Dartford warbler and Oak tree(of Epping?).Around this is a clock face with the Roman numerals of XXIV,represent the 24 hour nature of Nursing as well as the links of Greenwich to the Observatory and date Line.Good overall condition with pin,clasp and safety roller all good.Unmarked to rear.Height 33mm
