Tone Vale Hospital,Mental Nurses badge

A chrome and enamel nurses badge from the Tone Vale Hospital near Taunton.Opened as the second Somerset County Asylum in 1892 it finally closed in 1995.The rose shaped badge features a central design of a Wyvern from the arms of Somerset,set on a green enamel background.I believe this denotes that it may have been issued for Enrolled Nurse(mental) training.Condition is very good with pin and clasp in good order.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent Street Birmingham, dating this to pre 1961.Height 26mm
