A silver plated and enamel Nurses badge from the Springfield Hospital Manchester.Originally the buildings housed Crumpshall Workhouse but were used for mental health patients after 1930,
being renamed as Springfield Hospital in 1948 when it joined the new NHS.The badge consists of a central white Greek cross topped by a shield bearing two owls above a Lamp of Learning.The hospital title appears on a red band around this and the whole is edged by a wreath of roses and leaves.The face is in good condition with only minor wear to the plated finish.The pin has been lost and a temporary repair has been applied. The rear is named to M.Worrall(May Worrall is shown on the GNC Register a being entered as a RMN on 26.11.1963).Height 32mm
