London Fever Hospital,Silver nurses badge

An extremely rare and fine silver Nurses badge from the London Fever Hospital.One of the few "Voluntary" Fever Hospitals,rather than those run by the Metropolitan Asylums Board,it was located at Liverpool Road Islington.In 1948 it was absorbed by the new NHS and renamed The Royal Free Hospital Liverpool Road Branch.This badge predates that change.In silver with blue enamel it features the initials LFH in relief within a wreath of laurel leaves,It bears the motto SALUS POST FEBREM-Health After Fever.It is in very good condition.Pin and clasp good.Marked SILVER.Height 28mm
