Royal West Sussex Hospital,Silver Nurses Badge

A scarce silver and enamel nurses badge from the Royal West Sussex Hospital Chichester.The badge takes the form of the 8 pointed cross of the Knights of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem as used in the badge of St Thomas' Hospital.In the centre is the depiction of the Chichester Market Cross.In each quarter of the cross are emblems associated with the area and Sussex including a crown, rose,martlet and crops? The overall condition is good however there is damage to the enamel of two arms.The pin and clasp is intact.Engraved for Hatch M J 1958-61 Silver hallmarks for Tf (Thomas Fattorini) Birmingham 1859 Height 35mm
