A pair of badges awarded to the same nurse.
The Middlesex Hospital was one of those that did not originally award a hospital badge,as such,to its finalists.Rather they often received the badge of the Hospital's Nurses League until after 1964 when this badge was awarded to all successful nurses .This badge has the later wording.It features the arms and motto of the Hospital "MIseris Succurrere Disco" meaning "I Learn(or Endeavour) to succour the unfortunate" In base metal and enamel,in good overall condition but with some nibbles to the enamel at the edges and minor surface scratches.Named to M.R.Pettengell.Makers marks for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street London.Please refer to pictures.Pin and clasp intact. .Height 29mm
The second badge is from the General Nursing Council for England & Wales.In very good condition with pin, clasp and safety roller catch in good order.it is numbered to the rear SRN 566737
