Knowle Hospital School of Nursing,Mental Nurses Badge

A chrome and enamel Mental Nurses badge from Knowle Hospital, one of 3 different variants of those awarded.The Hampshire County Lunatic Asylum opened in 1852 at Fareham and eventually closed in 1996.The badge bears a shield with the three roses of Hampshire topped by a nurses lamp of learning.This is edged by a blue enamel garter belt upon which is Known Hospital School of Nursing.In good condition with pin and clasp good.Makers marks for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street Birmingham(This dates this to between 1964 and 1983).Height 35mm
