John Radcliffe Infirmary Oxford,Nurses "Gleam" badge

A bronze nurses pendant badge from the John Radcliffe Infirmary.It features an image of Florence Nightingale with her lamp and bears the phrase "A Gleam of God's Own Heaven" leading it to be known to staff as "the Gleam". The reverse sports a tree with panels carrying the title Radcliffe Infirmary County Hospital Oxford 1752.This badge was first issued from 1924 in bronze based upon at the medal awarded to outstanding Nurses.This design was replaced in 1941.
Condition is generally good with one or two small areas of tarnish .Pin and clasp are good.Height 50mm
