Cuckfield Hospital Assistant Nurse Badge

A scarce bronze metal nurses badge for Assistant Nurse Training (SEAN) for Cuckfield Hospital.The hospital was originally the workhouse before becoming an EMS hospital in WW2.It became a general hospital under the new NHS and finally closed in 1991.This badge dates to the 1950s.
The badge depicts a shield topped by a banner on which is "Cuckfield Hospital Assistant Nurse".The shield has respectively A tree, six gold martlets (from the arms of Sussex) and a single cuckoo (the emblem of the village).Condition is good ,the pin having been replaced.Height 27mm
