Formed from an amalgamation between the Central London Throat & Ear Hospital and the Hospital for Diseases of the Throat in 1939.This badge was presented on completion of the ENT Course undertaken by General trained nurses at the hospital.The badge depicts St Blaize attending a small boy pointing to his own throat.St Blaize was a 4th century bishop from Armenia who saved the life of a boy who was choking on a fish bone.
This white metal badge is in good condition although with some surface wear and scratches.Pin and clasp intact.Unmarked to the rear.Height 32mm A brass version also exists which be for Enrolled nurse ENT training,see item 50741
