French Flag Nursing Corps,First World War

A rare original First World War badge of the French Flag Nursing Corps. This organisation was formed in 1914 to provide British and Commonwealth Nurses to work within French Military Hospitals and soon gained a worthy reputation for efficiency.

A large brass and enamel badge,the design features the French Tricolour on a blue enamel background.Marked with maker's details J.R. Gaunt London. Good overall condition with only minor surface wear, original pin and clasp, enamel intact but with some surface scratches..A rare item
