A base metal and enamel Orthopaedic nurses badge from the St Vincent's Orthopaedic Hospital.The school of Nursing opened in 1947 and first awarded badges in 1967.The design is taken from a wall plaque outside the Hospital chapel.It shows St Vincent De Paul sheltering children under his cloak.The hospital title appears on a blue band around the edge with the latin motto Caritas Christi Urget Now-The Charity of Christ Urges us. In good condition but with some minor wear to the matt finish of the badge.Pin,clasp and safety roller catch are all good.Makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street Birmingham.Height 31mm.A scarce badge seldom seen
