A scarce first pattern nurses medal from the Sussex Eye Hospital.It features a Sun and its rays in a voided centre, above which is the latin motto Ad Lucem-To the Light.It is suspended from its original silk ribbon with a plain silver pin back brooch fitting.The pin has been professionally replaced. Hallmarks for SGS co Ltd (Sussex Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd) Birmingham 1946.Height 64mm
