Royal Masonic Hospital,Silver Nurses Belt Buckle

A scarce and desirable two piece nurses belt buckle , attached to a petersham belt, from the Royal Masonic Hospital. The main body of the buckle consist of a heavy convex scrolled design into which are set two panels in a voided centre. The first bears the square and compass, the second the five pointed star, both masonic emblems. This is the belt which was awarded to nurses qualifying from the Nurse Training School. The second piece is the buckle clasp. The body is hallmarked for Toye,Kenning & Spencer,Birmingham 1978.Condition of the buckle is very good with only minor surface wear. The belt is rather stained in places but I have left it in situ .
This is the matching buckle to the nurses badge also being listed on this site which was for training from 1975 to 1979.Price reflects rarity and my purchase cost for this rare item.PLEASE NOTE The last picture includes the badge but this is not part of this listing, it features separately.
Height 70mm Width 89mm
The Hospital closed in 1992.
