Westwood Hospital Bradford,Mental Handicap Nurses badge

A badge for Mental Handicap Nurse Training at the Westwood Hospital Bradford.Founded in 1918 as a colony for mental defectives it was absorbed into the NHS in 1948 and eventually closed in 1996.I believe this badge dates to the 1970s.The shield shape badge has a silvered top section bearing a nurses lamp of learning, below this is a dark green section with a silvered rose of Yorkshire with the initials WH to the centre.The hospital title appears is silver letters around the rose.Excellent condition in original plastic case, appears to be in an unworn state.Makers mark to rear for Thomas Fattorini Regent Street Birmingham Height 32mm
