St Bartholomew's Hospital,Silver Nurses Buckle

A hallmarked silver Nurses belt buckle for St Bartholomew's Hospital London.Consisting of a slightly convex shield, it bears the arms of John Wakering, a master of the hospital in the 15th Century . In good overall condition although with moderate surface scratching, as pictured.The buckle is attached to a blue petersham belt with a matching clasp(for a 24 inch waist!!) Hallmarked for D&F (Deakin & Francis) Birmingham 1930 Height 57mm by width 51mm. One of a number of variations of design for buckles from this famous hospital.
